JR Passes are sent out approximately one month before your departure. They will be in the form of a voucher which you will need to exchange at any major station in Japan or at the airport terminal. An explanatory document will be given to you with your travel documents, which you will receive between 3 weeks and 10 days before your departure date.
All our JRP shipments are accompanied by at least one information document on how it works, with maps of Japan Railways exchange offices at the main airports and stations in Japan.
In our shipments delivered by private carrier, we add free of charge complete documentation in English (depending on remaining supplies):
- a 24-page booklet on how the JR Pass works,
- maps of the JR network in Tokyo and Japan,
- Shinkansen train and airport shuttle timetables,
- guides to towns and tourist attractions,
- a document case for your trip,
- and even Zoom Japan magazine!
For journeys offered on the platform, the timetables are requested, but it will be up to customers to book the trains themselves with their JR Pass.It is possible to book train journeys without a JR Pass, but only in this case will we pre-book them.
